Role
The Merchandise Planning Intern will gain hands-on experience in the dynamic world of retail merchandise planning and allocation. As a Merchandise Planning Intern, you'll assist in various aspects of planning and allocation to ensure our products are in the right place at the right time to meet guest demand. The Intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, sourcing and supply chain, to ensure alignment on merchandise strategies. This opportunity offers a well-rounded experience in the retail industry and equips interns with essential skills and knowledge for a successful career in this field.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze historical data and current trends to identify opportunities and risks by department, subclass, collection and SKU
Partner with leadership to create and present department level plans that support division and department level strategies
Partner with Merchandising to create SKU's and purchase orders in our order management system
Work with our vendors and supply chain partners to track shipments and identify risks to on time delivery
Calculate receipt needs based on inventories and sales forecast
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Solid Grasp of retail math and metrics
Passionate, motivated and curious about working in a retail business environment
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret meaningful trends from quantitative and qualitative data
Able to maintain and build effective relationships with cross-functional team
Possess strong organizational and time management skills
Advanced knowledge of Excel with aptitude to learn new systems quickly
