Job Description:

Functions

This position's primary focus is to be responsible for the strategic sourcing and daily procurement of products and services to our customers. The role supports organizational priorities of product availability. This position is the first liaison with Swagelok Co. on supply chain transactions.

Duties / Responsibilities:

% of Time Essential

90% Strategic Sourcing
• Manage daily purchasing and strategic buys for products and services
• Management of Collaborative Replenishment program including approval of stocking level suggestions from IMG and working with the IMG group on changes and overrides.
• Recommending and establishing inventory stocking strategy using usage and forecasting data with the collaboration of sales team and customers to meet customer and market demands.
• Coordinate with Custom Solutions department to ensure alignment in component availability
• Monitor and update price-lists
• Monitor and process distributor requests
• Create delivery documents for dropship sales orders
• Review Swagelok invoices for accounting payment, work with Swagelok on charges
• Review truck shipments for improvements and delays
• Resolve supply issues, part sourcing, price discrepancies, and payment resolutions
• Work with freight carriers on pricing, claims, scheduling, and any export documentation
• Evaluate and improve supply chain efficiency by monitoring stock levels, fill rates, and inventory
• 3rd party supplier relationships, other SSC responsiveness, good relations

5% Planning:
• Identify goals and determine actions required to achieve those goals
• Effectively utilize internal resources like iSwagelok, document-sharing platforms, and product literature
• Participate in marketing and sales-related initiatives
• Report & help to track customer complaints, non-conformances, and errors to comply with our Quality System
• Responsible for metrics and reports on supply chain management.
• Identify supply chain risks and assist in managing these risks.
• Responsible for supply chain processes, policies, and necessary training for involved associates.

5% Organizational goals:

-Participate in a team and/or project(s) that contributes to the Strategic Plan or other initiatives to improve the organization continuously.

- Conduct ongoing learning to become a subject-matter expert in an area needed to continue the Evolution of the Customer Experience

- Educate on the direction/policies of the company

- Advise management on key issues, trends, and customer expectations and recommend process improvements to improve customer service quality

- Perform other related duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Education and Experience:
• 2 or 4-year degree preferred in a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
• Industry experience in instrumentation or process industries is helpful

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to progressively learn mechanical and fluid-system-related technical information.
• Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft business applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and ability to learn business systems and other software platforms as required.
• SAPB1 Experience or knowledge preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Extensive knowledge of customer service procedures and principles
• Superior organizational skills with attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills, and commitment to deadlines
