FTE opening: Sr Level DevOps Database Administrator/DBA
Locations: Westminster, CO or Longmont, CO. Remote role, seeking candidates living in Colorado, with the ability to go into one of the offices occasionally.
The Database Services team is focused on providing highly integrated and value-added consulting services. In partnership with our internal platform groups around data design, database administration and management, we operate a highly sophisticated commercial earth-imaging satellite constellation enabling us to amass the largest database of high-resolution imagery in the world. Our systems manage massive scale storage and processing of this data to provide imagery solutions. In this role you will support commercial, GovCloud and secure environments in multiple clouds and on-perm.
Core databases including: Oracle, Postgres, SQL Server, and MySQL.
As a Sr. DevOps DBA, you will architect, design, develop and maintain Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) platforms for our ground systems platform/application teams (a highly automated process). You will also be responsible for patching, upgrading database servers, internal and external compliance, as well as security and license audits for database software. This role is a 7x24 shop and will be part of an on-call rotation.
What You'll Be Doing:
Work with multiple versions of Oracle, PostgesSQL, SQL Server and MySQL in support of our business units. Mostly focused on database administration and management but also help with design and implementations
Plan, coordinate and administer matters related to PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and SQL Server databases including definition, structure, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and protection
Demonstrate your experience working with Data Center migration to multiple cloud provide
Establish and maintain security integrity controls
Translate logical to physical design, develop comprehensive DB architectures, implementation and upgrade plans and assist in definition of database standards, policies, and procedures.
Create and manage large scale, highly available production database environments
Data loading, security, capacity planning and backup and recovery
Support production databases in a high quality and dynamic environment
Responsible for solving SQL performance related issues and optimizing poorly performing queries and stored procedures
Responsible for 24x7 production operations (incident break/fix, change, service requests, management) and On-Call pager rotation
Minimum Requirements:
Must be a US Citizen with an active secret level security clearance or able to obtain within expected timeframes (Clearance not required for this role immediately but may be requested in the future).
Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant field or 4 years of relevant experience
8+ years of experience with database administration in a production environment
3+ years of development experience with data management systems
2+ years of experience with AWS, Azure, Google, or relevant cloud provide. This can include public or private clouds
Experience working in a DevOps model and has agile project management experience
