Wood is currently recruiting for an SIMOPS Coordinator with experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably offshore major capital projects. The position will have a domestic assignment and an international assignment (S.Korea/ Israel).

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: The SIMOPS Coordinator operates under the direction and authority of the Commissioning Manager and Commissioning HSE Manager to communicate all potential work tasks, to prevent conflicts in the form of unsafe conditions between any and all groups working in the facility.


KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB: Coordinate, facilitate and ensure that all Permit Work Tasks and JSEA's are properly documented and communicated between responsible parties and posted when necessary. Maintain adequate reports of Permits and work tasks for area specific work tasks. Approve work activities and tasks depending on contractors work scope, risk, conditions and priority in the project.



RESPONSIBILITIES



CRITICAL SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: Be responsible for understanding and executing Wood's Safety Policies and Procedures throughout all phases of the project. Personal safety awareness and team safety awareness are necessary.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and support JSEA and PTW requests in the form of reviews / walk downs and work scope verification.
  • Ensure that the appropriate supervisors are involved in the safe work process and approvals are secured.
  • Oversee permits are posted in designated areas and maintain status board updates.
  • Ensure All PTW work packs are completed properly before being presented to the PTW Coordinator 24 - 48 hours prior to the daily SIMOPS/PTW coordination meeting
  • Ensure that all completed permits are properly closed and communicated to affected parties.
  • Notify the HSE Advisor, OIM, Project Manager and Emergency Response Team for the facility of all High Risk Activities before performed.
  • Verify, review and audit JSEA's and Work Permits on a daily basis.
  • Facilitate Task Risk Analysis as requested.
  • Notify the Commissioning Manager, OIM and Project Management of any potential SIMOP's issues.
  • Monitor the SPOC(s) (Sing Point of Contact) or isolators to ensure verification of work place controls are in place and being utilized correctly.
  • Once per week, audit permits documentation in the office and in the field. This includes all pertinent permit to Work documentation (Signed JSEA, Current PTW forms, and all other applicable documentation with regards to that permitted activity). Identify and document findings on the Audit Sheet and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Perform a pre task review for proposed work in the form of site verification to ensure correct application of safe work practices and communication in regards to potential conflicts.
  • Assist or Facilitate any and all incident/accident investigations under the direction of the HSE Manager. The Site
  • Superintendent shall give support to the site HSE Representative as requested by company HSE Manager.
  • Train all Wood Commissioning personnel as directed by the HSE Manager utilizing the Approved training content.
  • Review One Line Diagrams / P & ID's for correct implementation of Isolations of Hazardous Energy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.





QUALIFICATIONS



QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate should be a motivated self-starter with complex problem solving ability. Excellent communication skills and team oriented personality required to interface with Construction and Operations Teams. A detailed working knowledge of onshore/ offshore Oil & Gas facilities is required including:
  • Electrical-High Voltage, extensive knowledge and experience
  • LOTO (Lock out Tag out)
  • PTW (Permit to Work)
  • SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations)
  • OSHA Standards for the Construction Industry (29 CFR 1926)
  • OSHA Standards for General Industry (29 CFR 1910)
  • Construction / Commissioning Projects
  • Microsoft Office Programs
  • Clerical Skills

Education and Experience:


Eight (8) years minimum of responsible experience in the offshore oil and gas industry or upstream with a strong HSE background. Some college preferred, though not required.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:


Certified Trainer Certification or other Safety Certification is a plus.
