Job Description:

Learns, observes, and assists other fabricators/technicians in providing maintenance and repairs on trailers and ground support equipment. Applies classroom learning to the field to demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities. Successfully completes all trainee requirements, including but not limited to, classroom training, CBT, and driving requirements. Completes rotations in vehicle maintenance areas, such as non-powered GSE and trailer and all other program requirements as outlined in current program guide.
Performs other duties as assigned.



Minimum Education


High school diploma/GED. Successful completion of FedEx-sponsored work-based learning program or related formal/vocational training.





Minimum Experience


None.





Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


Knowledge of basic mechanical hand tools and equipment. Basic computer skills. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Good communications skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.





Job Conditions


Possession of basic set of automotive hand tools including metric sizes. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and maneuver any weight above 50 pounds with assistance on a regular basis. Must be able to work in noisy, non-air-conditioned/heated work area. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must be willing to work any shift. Must possess a valid driver's license in state of residence. Non-covered safety-sensitive position.. Must be able to meet all training requirements.
