The Facilities Management Team is hiring a temporary part-time intern who will be assigned to observe, assist and receive training in a broad range of activities in the Facilities Department in the HVAC trades. This will be an eight-month immersive job experience where the intern will work directly with HVAC plant operators. Specific duties and job schedule will be created for the position to meet the specific needs of the Bank. All work performed by the intern will be supervised by local Facilities Management staff. 

***        Work consists of up to 20 hours per week

***        Rate offered will be $21.50/hr
 

Key Responsibilities:

• HVAC/Mechanical – General assistance such as replacing filters in VAV boxes throughout the building.
  
  
  • Assist in maintaining AC units, fan units, chillers, boilers, and other facility equipment as needed
  
  
  • Assist in maintenance and demonstrate a basic understanding of operating procedures and proper chemical treatment levels for boilers and cooling towers
  
  
  
  

Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to work independently and safely.


• HVAC
  
  
  • Understanding of HVAC systems and a strong mechanical aptitude
  
  
  • Entry level knowledge and skill in the operation and maintenance of commercial mechanical, HVAC, fire protection and plumbing systems including advanced knowledge of several components such as centrifugal chillers, centrifugal pumps, chemical water treatment, refrigeration systems, direct digital control systems, or gas fire tube boilers
  
  
  
  

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED and aptitude of building trades required.


• Must be enrolled in a HVAC trade school


• Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint along with computerized building automation systems

 Other/Physical Requirements:

• Candidate must be willing and able to:

  • Reach and grasp with hands
  
  
  • Tolerate a work environment with moderate to excessive noise from equipment
  
  
  • Work in both an indoor office environment and outdoor conditions, including hot and cold temperatures, wind, and light rain.
