The Opportunity
The Air Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and maintaining accurate records related to air quality and safety. This role involves a blend of administrative duties, such as onboarding and training management, and hands-on tasks, including inspections and compliance checks. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and a commitment to upholding environmental standards.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Conduct daily inspections several times per week to ensure compliance with environmental regulations
- Perform Marport inspections and AO (Air Quality) inspections
- Retrieve and manage training records for IDEM (Indiana Department of Environmental Management) compliance
- Conduct satellite accumulation checks multiple times per week
- Input spill reports into the system promptly
- Create accounts for all applicable training needs for new hires, weekly
- Ensure documentation is received from People & Culture for each new hire
- Input all observations into Intelex and distribute relevant information to managers
- Set up new hires in various systems (Intelex, Latitude, Hazwoper, Payroll)
- Retrieve training records for new hires and update with permanent payroll numbers
- Update training records in Intelex daily for all employees, including data from sign-in sheets
- Perform weekly updates for training sessions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field preferred
- At least 1 year of experience in environmental compliance or a similar role
- Familiarity with Intelex, Latitude, Hazwoper, and other relevant systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of IDEM regulations and other relevant environmental laws
