Responsibilities
Subject Matter Expert that provides effective leadership, rapport, and technical expertise in all electrical plant matters for all departments: Maintenance, Technical, Projects, and Operations
Provides expertise to the Projects and Maintenance group on electrical systems to ensurethat design of equipment and systems meets the intent of corporate and plant design standards
Assist in maintenance of HV substations
Oversee electrical equipment installation and commissioning with a focus on quality and safety
Resolve and plan for obsolescence issues in the plant for electrical equipment
Drive the plant bad actor elimination program for electrical equipment
Support plant T/As thru scope development, generator sizing, project implementation, and any issues requiring technical expertise
Perform/champion Arc Flash studies on any changes to electrical distribution system
Network with internal and external resources including vendors and contractors to develop effective solutions to equipment issues
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineeringfrom an accredited university
Must have at least 7 years of electrical engineering experience
Working knowledge of low, medium voltage (5kV-34.5kV), and high voltage (138kV) electrical equipment including switchgear, MCC, motors, UPS, and transformers
Experienced with troubleshooting of electrical systems thru one-line diagrams, control wiring/schematic diagrams, and protection relay event data
Experience with industry codes and standards. (NFPA, NESC, ANSI, IEEE, API, NEMA, NETA)
Experience with electrical preventative maintenance programs
Experience with NFPA 70E Electrical Safety in the Workplace
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and Access)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a plant environment, refinery or chemical
Knowledge/experience with SAP
Experience with ETAP software for model development/study of plant electrical system
Experience with event data and settings of feeder, motor, and line protection relaying
Experience in the repair of DC/AC motors
Knowledge of MV/LV VFDs
