RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoots and resolves escalated Access and CPE device field issues
- The Network Engineer performs assessments on existing technologies to determine performance and capacity gaps
- Establishes security, connectivity and access parameters
- Provides recommendations to optimize network infrastructure
- Tests and tunes security devices and systems
- The Network Engineer programs routers and switches. Implements communications technologies (data or voice)
- Manages network services from planning phase through implementation
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10 years of experience
- CPE and ONU background in trouble shooting is highly desirable
- Ability to write technical documentation
- Ability to write and follow detailed technical test plans
- Solid knowledge of routing protocols, network hardware and software, security technologies and network infrastructure
- Advanced knowledge of the DOCSIS and EPON standards
Working knowledge of CMTS platforms including:
- Casa C100G
- Arris E6000
- Cisco cBR8
Experience with:
- RPHY
- Harmonic vCMTS and RPDs
- Vecima RPDs
Working knowledge of EPON platforms including:
- ADTRAN 95XX and SDX-6210
- Vecima (Nokia) 7360 and Distributed Access Architecture SF-4x, SC-2D3
Working knowledge of switch platforms including:
- Cisco NCS/ASR
- Juniper PTX/QFX/ACX
Working knowledge of routing protocols including:
- OSPF
- ISIS
- BGP
- v4/v6 Multicast
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
