Starting Pay: $22.00 per hour

Job Summary:

• Efficiently operates a variety of polishing machines to polish detailed portions of precious and non-precious jewelry.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Polishes precious and non-precious metal jewelry pieces by using various types/sizes of wheels, brushes, cloths and buffing compounds.
• Set ups and efficiently operates a variety of polishing machines.
• Performs basic maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating machine parts.
• Responsible for quality control. Making adjustments as necessary to produce products within specifications.
• Operates within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
• Responsible for reading and identifying information located on the order forms.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Examines rings or work to verify conformance to specifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma/ GED equivalent is suggested.
• Must be able to do the above task in a safe, clean and timely manner.
• Ability to read and write in English is required.
• Strong communication skills
• Multi-tasking skills.
• Must be able to work overtime and on Saturdays during busy seasons.
• Ability to establish priorities and work independently.
• Ability to work well with people having different ethnic, social, or educational backgrounds; understand the cultural differences of different groups.

Physical Demands:

• Manual Dexterity: Good Hand-eye coordination
• Near Vision: The ability to see details at close range.
• Control Precision: The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to get to the exact positions.
• Arm-Hand Steadiness: The ability to keep the hand and arm steady.
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
