Overview



Lovebirds Café, located in the reimagined Newport Beachside Hotel and Resort, which will relaunch as The Sunny, Miami's new premier beachside retreat, is looking for a Lead Barista with a genuine passion for coffee. Our baristas are the heart of Lovebirds Café. As a Lead Barista, you are skilled in connecting and creating moments and an expert at creating handcrafted delicious beverages .You work together to create a welcoming café environment, while bringing our mission and values to life - for our customers and each other.


We are searching for a Lead Barista with a genuine passion for coffee and leadership. As the heart of Lovebirds Café, you will oversee daily operations, ensuring that every cup served reflects our dedication to quality. You will play a key supervisory role, mentoring baristas, managing the flow of service, and creating a welcoming environment for both guests and the team.



Responsibilities





  • Create exceptional guest experiences by preparing handcrafted beverages with care and precision. Cultivate a warm, welcoming atmosphere that embodies our café's mission and values.

  • Lead and motivate a team of baristas, providing training and guidance on coffee preparation, customer service, and daily operations. Be the go-to person for support and questions.

  • Oversee daily café operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.

  • Ensure all beverages meet the café's high standards in taste, appearance, and consistency. Conduct regular checks on cleanliness, health standards, and service flow.

  • Mentor new team members, providing hands-on training in both technical skills and guest service. Support ongoing development for all staff.

  • Address any issues that arise during shifts, including customer complaints, technical issues, and staff coordination.

  • Foster a collaborative environment where all team members feel valued, supported, and inspired to deliver their best work.

  • Stay updated on coffee trends and innovations, bringing fresh ideas to enhance the café's offerings. Conduct coffee tastings and educate both team members and customers on new products.

  • Work with management to boost sales by creating promotional items or events that engage the community and enhance guest experiences.




Qualifications





  • Proven experience as a barista, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.

  • Strong knowledge of coffee, brewing techniques, and espresso-based drinks.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team.

  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality service.

  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to daily challenges.

  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
