Public Finance Attorney at Locke Lord in San Francisco, California

Job Description:

The Public Finance Practice Group of the Finance, Banking and Real Estate Department at Locke Lord is seeking a Senior Counsel in the San Francisco office. The ideal candidate will be a special district lawyer, on the due diligence side, with 15 + years' experience of representing issuers, underwriters and developers in municipal bond and economic development transactions for governmental capital, education, and health care projects.



Essential Functions

• Provide effective and reliable legal services to clients and supervising attorneys.
  
  


• Research public finance laws, regulations, case law and provide detailed guidance and analysis to partners
  
  
  and clients.
  
  


• Draft and negotiate official statements, trust agreements and opinions with efficiency and clarity.
  
  


• Manage due diligence inquiries and oversee formation of assessment and community facilities districts.
  
  


• Complete tasks efficiently.
  
  

Education and Experience

• Juris Doctor. Qualified candidates must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing.
  
  


• Creativity and flexibility to handle numerous types and structures of transactions.
  
  


• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  
  


• Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  
  


• Strong organization and matter management skills.
  
  


• Ability to work professionally and effectively with clients, partners, associates, and support staff.
