The Payroll Specialist position helps to contribute to the Payroll Supervisor by assisting and processing a high volume of weekly certified payroll reporting in addition to maintaining the employee files.
Responsibilities include:
Certified Payroll report preparation and tracking
Keying, batching and auditing timesheets of approximately 150 employees
Filing and processing of Intent to Pay Prevailing Wage/Affidavit of Wages Paid
Processing Employment claims
Processing New Hire packets
Answer questions from employees regarding pay
Heavy phone and email volume
Additional related assignments as needed
Required experience and skills:
Ability to work successfully in a deadline-driven environment with frequent interruptions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have a high attention to detail
Must be very organized
Outstanding customer service skills
Proficiency in Word and Excel
Union payroll experience highly preferred
Construction payroll/office experience highly preferred
PAY DOE
$24.00 to $26.00
