This is a highly skilled position involving the operation of Asphalt Steel Wheel Roller


Job Description Summary

• The selected candidate will be required to work in a team environment with other co-workers and managers.
• Must understand the operating procedures of the machine.
• Must have the skills to inspect the machine and notify appropriate personnel if there is an issue with the machine.
• Must be able to operate the machine safely and abide by all company policies and procedures.
• Must put safety as the number one priority and watch out for the safety of everyone around the machine.
• Must keep equipment clean, lubricated, and in good working order, including good housekeeping.
• Operate roller to maintain proper impact spacing to meet smoothness requirements.
• Operate the roller in concert selecting the static or vibratory mode with a corresponding amplitude and frequency (VPM) setting appropriate for the mix type and depth.
• Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
• Perform general labor duties when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

• Must have experience running a steel wheel roller on highway construction projects.
• Must have a knowledge of rolling patterns.
• Must have a knowledge of DOT density requirements and what it takes to accomplish those requirements.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Pass a pre-employment "Fit for Work" physical.
• Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
• Willing to travel and work away from home when required.
• Willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Report to work at the designated start time.
• Able to work overtime when required.
• Willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
• Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA.
• At least age 18 years of age due to nature of working environment.
• CDL preferred but not required
