Job Details:
The Primary Purpose of this job is to maintain all tractors, trailers, and live production equipment in operating condition which requires being able to diagnose issues, adjust, repair, and perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment while complying with Department of Transportation rules and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Tasks: Maintain, diagnose, repair any equipment necessary to assure continuous operations. Maintain any support equipment, change trailer and tractor tires, and help in layout and install new and rebuilt parts on equipment. Assemble or reassemble complex equipment that requires maintenance knowledge. Maintain clean work area as well as other shop areas. Wear proper PPE. Follow proper safety practices and procedures. Stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift, climb and lie on back. Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. Must be able to tolerate temperatures and conditions ranging from cold and damp to hot and humid. Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor.
Requirements: 1st Shift--Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Times may vary as needed.
Must have Diesel Mechanic experience. Must have a Class A CDL and must meet DOT and Tyson Fleet Safety Driver Qualifications to be Must have basic tools. Must be able to work with minimal or without any supervision. Must be able to understand written and verbal instructions, shop manuals and other written documents. Must have basic computer skills required for data input. Must have experience working with power hand tools, welder, cutting tools, test equipment, forklift, hand tools, hydraulic press, lift equipment, ladder, hydraulic hose crimper, drill press, torque wrenches up to 600 ft/lbs., and any other equipment required to maintain and repair diesel trucks, trailers, and live production equipment. Must be able to work as part of a team. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays if necessary. Must have a valid Alabama Driver License with an MVR in good standing. Class "A" CDL with good driving record preferred, but not required.
