Overview

Sev1Tech is looking for a Lead Pipeline/DevSecOps Engineer to support a Navy modernization effort to provide overarching technical expertise on a mission-critical program whose purpose is to develop, modernize, and enhance services for a Navy MPT&E suite of applications.

In this role, you will lead the efforts to establish a pipeline execution plan to maximize our performance and quality with the right automations and efficiencies for our IT modernization efforts. The right candidate will be working with our program’s architects, engineers, and developers in a Scale Agile organizational environment.

As a Pipeline/DevSecOps Engineer, you will interface with Project leadership to assist in the strategy, design, development, and maintenance of pipelines and develop methods to monitor our Kubernetes cloud targeted development, test/staging, and production environments. You are focused on automation and are passionate about creating best in class tooling for our Developers, Integration, and Cybersecurity teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Establish CI/CD and DevSecOps execution plan to maximize performance and quality.
  • Establish associated standards (for areas such as build and deployment processes, data pipeline between software development tools through deployment to Kubernetes pods, etc.).
  • Ensure CI/CD and DevSecOps capabilities/processes aligns with Navy policies, establish security architecture that includes, but not limited to, automation, where best suited and ensure processes and implementation account for data separation, environment separation (dev, test, prod), and separation of user and privilege user roles.
  • Apply CI/CD for defining & operating the configuration management process to handle Non-Production and Production environments.
  • Build CI/CD based version control, automated builds, and release management that align with Navy requirements.
  • Document the program’s enterprise CI/CD and DevSecOps strategy, high level data flow, establishes an end-to-end data management/ technical architecture, integrates with the right tools (Jira, Jenkins, Selenium, ANSIBLE, GitLab, Docker, etc.), and provides corresponding road-maps. Including drafting and editing of existing documentation as well as coordinating documents with subject matter experts within contract program and software development teams.
  • Facilitate solutions to integrate a more automated code analysis validation process, where possible.
  • Lead and manage CI/CD and DevSecOps implementation across a matrixed team. tracking and managing solutions, status updates, schedules and risks. daily collaboration efforts are expected.
  • Communicate with senior leadership and potentially with executive leadership (internally or client) regarding matters of significant importance to the organization/project.


Responsibilities

  • Must have DOD Secret level clearance to start; U.S. Citizen required only for Federal Clearance Requirement
  • Certification Requirement: Directive 8570.1/8140 - IAT II: Security+
  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) and 10+ years of prior relevant DevSecOps experience
  • Experience in defining an enterprise data platform strategy and establishing an end-to-end CI/CD program on a large Navy Program.
  • Experience setting up and maintaining the full DevSecOps practice and processes.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline automation tools, cloud environments and associated cloud deployments and network stack/protocols. knowledgeable in building and working with Docker or similar containers.
  • Ability to work in agile environment and collaborate with other teams/groups in a fast-paced agile environment.
  • Extensive understanding and experience programming and designing software using Terraform, Ansible, Java, J2EE, Oracle, WebLogic, Tomcat and AWS cloud services.
  • Experience with modern development software, tools, and methodologies; Jenkins, GitLab, Jira, Nexus, Maven, OpenShift, SonarQube, Fortify, Junit, Karma, Selenium, Cyprus, Docker, Artifactory.
  • Strong verbal and written technical communication skills.
  • Ability to liaise with government, vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.


Qualifications



  • At least one nationally recognized vendor certification Cloud Technical, Business or TCO Accreditation Cloud Architect, DevOps or SysOps Associate or Professional Certification.
  • Demonstrated experience in network and cyber security design, engineering, and operations with emphasis on Navy capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience developing models using Sparx EA, Splunk, MuleSoft, SalesForce.
  • Experience with NIST SP 800 series or ISO 27000 series documents for information security management and risk assessment.
  • Experience with Angular, ReactJS, Spring MVC, JQuery, JSF, JSP, MyBatis, Hibernate, IBM MQ, Kafka, ELK, or PLSQL.
  • Demonstrated experience with server virtualization technologies such as VMware, Citrix, or Hyper-V.
  • Demonstrated experience with operating systems such as RedHat Linux and Windows Server.
  • Demonstrated experience in ITIL, ISO20000 / ISO27001 implementations.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the Navy’s Afloat network variants and process for application deployment and updates on Navy Afloat networks.
