Our client is preparing to select and replace its electronic health record (EHR) system and is seeking an experienced client-side Project Manager/Business Analyst to support this project. The clinic currently growing and at full capacity will serve up to 300 participants at any one time.
This is specific to substance treatment and recovery based systems. The EHR must be OASAS certified.
Please note, they have already defined detailed requirements as is currently identifying 2-3 potential vendors to include in the selection process.
Responsibilities
Drive the vendor selection process, liaising with Client team and vendors to schedule and conduct structured demos, collect and review vendor-provided information, and organize/summarize the team s scoring of each vendor against requirements
Participate actively in vendor demos, particularly representing the clients needs in understanding and assessing the architecture and technical capabilities of the system (where the client will primarily represent their clinical needs).
Project manage the implementation:
Liaise with the vendor project manager to develop a comprehensive project plan
Monitor and track progress against plan, holding both vendor and Client team members accountable for delivery.
Identify and proactively address risks and issues to project success
Act as Business Analyst throughout the implementation:
Participate alongside Client team members in system design, configuration, and testing meetings
Work with Client team members to make system design/configuration decisions that the vendor requires, including doing first pass of activities like configuration worksheets, form/report specifications, and then reviewing with the team
Lead user acceptance testing, ensuring the team members thoroughly test the product before approving for release
Ensure adequate user training is planned for, resourced, and takes place.
Potential responsibilities
Conduct a due diligence review of vendor security and resiliency documentation (disaster recovery plans, security audit reports etc.)
Directly lead/participate in negotiation of the selected vendor contract on behalf of the client.
Required Qualifications
Significant experience implementing electronic health records systems
Strong project management skills able to develop a plan for a system implementation project, proactively drive progress, hold vendors and team members accountable, proactively manage risks and issues.
Strong business analysis skills able to rapidly understand clinical care delivery processes, understand how a system needs to be designed/configured to best support those processes, and act as interpreter between client clinical staff and vendor technical staff.
Comfortable adapting best practice systems implementation practices in a pragmatic way for a small non-profit that does not have experience with or resources for large-scale systems implementations.
Preferred Qualifications
Strongly preferred: Experience implementing electronic health record systems for behavioral health providers (i.e. substance use treatment or mental health)
Desired: Experience implementing electronic health record systems for an opioid treatment program i.e. a provider that stores and dispenses methadone and other controlled substances on an outpatient basis.
