POSITION SUMMARY

As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the product portfolio throughout all stages of the lifecycle. This includes, but is not limited to, market sizing analyses, industry research, competitive analyses, consumer insight research, roadmap planning, new product development, packaging creation, pricing development, and product lifecycle management. You will be the voice of the consumer and customer to the internal team, developing new products with Engineering and leading innovation projects through stage gate.Working closely with the Marketing and Sales team, you will support customer meetings and line reviews, create planograms, carry out product launches, and conduct product training to internal and external stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct deskside research into the market, competitors and consumers in the plumbing, HVAC and electrical markets to determine product opportunities.
  • Determine market size and create business cases for product opportunities, prioritizing them on a product roadmap.
  • Develop the scope and design briefs for each product opportunity and kick off innovation projects with the cross functional team.
  • Lead innovation projects through development of the product and the stage gate process, being the voice of the consumer and customer to the cross functional team.
  • Manage pricing, both existing core products and innovation, through competitive research, internal data analysis and sales interaction.
  • Develop packaging for existing core products as well as innovation.
  • Manage the lifecycle of the portfolio, including SKU rationalization, and all the tasks associated with discontinuing or launching a product (ex. communication, collateral, etc.).
  • Know the consumer and customer inside and out and translate their needs to the internal team.
  • Support the sales team in product line reviews, customer meetings, and every day competitive or portfolio questions.
  • Create recommendations on product assortments for Wholesale and Retail customers, including planogram development.
  • Launch product into the market through collateral development and hosting trainings for both internal and external audiences.
  • Support development of annual budgets and marketing plans.
  • Maintain the portfolio P&Ls, consistently looking for VAVE opportunities to improve the portfolio margin and overall sales performance.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years' experience within the building materials industry (plumbing, electrical and HVAC experience preferred).

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

PHYSICAL AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Domestic travel required 25% of the time.
  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 25 pounds.
