Job Summary | The Department of Sociology in the College of Arts Sciences at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY seeks to fill a tenure-eligible faculty position at the Assistant Professor level with expertise in the field of Medical Sociology. This is a 9-month position in the regular title series with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2025. The department is seeking a scholar with expertise in medical sociology. This individual will teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels. We encourage candidates whose research and teaching will add to existing departmental strengths and needs (see www.soc.as.uky.edu) to apply. Opportunities are available for collaboration and affiliation through UK’s Research Priority Areas such as substance use (SUPRA) and/or race/ethnicity (UNITE) (https://www.research.uky.edu/research-priorities-initiative). The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to be a faculty affiliate in the Center for Health, Engagement, and Transformation (https://chet.med.uky.edu/) and participate in an innovative, interdisciplinary program in Health, Society, & Populations (https://health.as.uky.edu/). A Ph.D. in sociology or a related discipline is required.
