Training Specialist

What Will You Do?

The Training Specialist will develop, administer, organize and facilitate company training programs for non-production, supervisory, production and management employees at all stages of employment with minimal direction. The Training Specialist will oversee, organize and schedule facilitators for New Employee Orientation. In addition, this position will facilitate a portion of the orientation and prepare a portion of the new hire packet. This position will utilize departmental learning design methodologies to create learning events, instructional activities and materials that effectively incorporate adult learning principles and will evaluate learners and programs to ensure individual performance expectations, skill application and organizational needs have been achieved. Facilitate learning experiences in multiple delivery modalities including, but not limited to, eLearning, instructor-led training in both in person and virtual environments. This role must demonstrate flexibility to shift between each facet of their role with little difficulty. In addition, this role will stay current with innovative, new learning experience design modalities and be able to create pilot programs based on this research.

What Do You Need?
  • Prepare, implement and facilitate company training courses including leadership, policies and procedures, Continuous Improvement Tools, new employee orientation and other areas or topics as requested.
  • Research and conduct training need assessments for production, non-production, supervisory and management level employees for assigned location.
  • Assess training success/effectiveness. Create and administer evaluations (written, verbal, competency demonstration and hands-on application).
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts, Training and Development Management and staff to develop training that supports business needs and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Instructional Designer to provide evaluation feedback on programs.
  • Maintain location specific training records, documentation and evaluation. Utilize evaluation data to make recommendations for program/training content improvement.
  • Coordinate scheduling of training with the demands of the business unit environment.
  • Assemble, edit and publish the local Furniture Biz.
  • Demonstrate the Company's Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions.
