On behalf of one of our international clients, YER USA is currently searching for an experienced PLC/Service Engineer with the ability to travel domestically and abroad (~75%).
The candidate will be given the opportunity to commission and service packaging machinery in the U.S. (primarily), Canada, and Mexico as well as to help program assembled machinery. Our client is looking for sharp, capable, and energetic team members to help them grow their business and maintain their status as market leader.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Managing the power-up, I/O check-out, commissioning, and de-bugging of machinery shipped to the customers' plants.
Writing PLC programs (based off our standard code) for machines.
Training customer personnel on MSK machinery
Product concept and film testing for potential new customers.
Remote customer support via phone (based out of the office)
Candidate Profile
Bachelor's degree in industrial automation/controls engineering or an equivalent experience
Comfortable level of experience with connecting to the PLC, viewing code online, and troubleshooting tags.
Familiarity with Factory Talk (the software used for Allen Bradley HMI).
Proficiency in TIA Portal (versions 15, 15.1, 17); experience with Siemens Step 7 helpful.
Knowledge of basic parameters for PowerFlex 525; familiarity with Kinetix 5700.
Ability to read and troubleshoot electrical diagrams.
Expertise in making redlines if discrepancies are identified in the electrical diagram.
Comfortable with hands-on tasks, such as wiring sensors, replacing damaged cables, or installing new devices as needed.
Ability to manage basic mechanical tools.
Ability and willingness to travel domestically and abroad (70-80% travel)
Must be able to work both in a collaborative environment and autonomously.
Initiative-taking individual with the ability to manage stressful situations and "get the job done."
Good communicator with professional demeanor; sole MSK representative interfacing with customers when on-site
