Job Description:

A distinguished multi-generation construction firm is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join its esteemed team. This role presents a unique opportunity for a tech-savvy and proactive professional to contribute significantly within a high-volume, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment. The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing diverse accounting functions and supporting the company's continued growth across multiple business lines, including construction, service, distribution, ecommerce, and light manufacturing. This role offers hybrid flexibility and a competitive salary range of $80-90k, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
  • Provide essential support to the Financial Controller in overseeing all accounting and management activities.
  • Lead and manage key processes during month-end, quarterly, and year-end close, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Perform critical tasks including bank reconciliations, audit preparation, cash management, fixed assets oversight, inventory control, WIP construction entry, and sales tax analysis.
  • Continuously refine and maintain internal controls, system processes, company policies, and accounting procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Efficiently process weekly payroll and accounts payable checks, maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
  • Collaborate with IT departments to optimize the integration and functionality of accounting systems.
  • Actively contribute to team projects, providing strategic insights and solutions that align with the company's goals.

Qualifications of the Senior Accountant:
  • A degree in accounting, with a comprehensive understanding of GAAP.
  • Prior experience in construction, service, distribution, ecommerce, and/or manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and professional business correspondence and ensure accuracy in documentation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change effectively and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
