Job Description:

Excellent opportunity to work for a Global organization that is extremely stable and a direct hire position and typically working 3 days in office with 2 days remote. The base pay range is $140K-$150K plus great benefits package and discretionary bonus.

Reporting to the Network Operations Manager, the role will be part of our Operations team, responsible for managing and maintaining moderately complex to complex network systems that are global in scale.

Team is small (c. 15 staff) but high performing global team, split across London and Houston/Atlanta area; operating on a 24x7 basis to deliver a stable, secure, and scalable service for the company, in accordance with ITIL and Industry best practice.

The team is split functionally, between Engineering and Operations, to ensure necessary focus is applied to each discipline.

The Role

Reporting to the Network Operations Manager, the role will be part of our Operations team, responsible for managing and maintaining moderately complex to complex network systems that are global in scale; including, but not limited to; routers, switches, load-balancers, firewalls, network management and monitoring tools.

The role is needed to help drive a service delivery mentality across the team, as well as help drive service improvements across technology and processes.

A key facet of the Senior Network Engineer is to offer technical leadership across the Operations team and support driving the necessary technical and behavioral (process) improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
• Proactively operate, maintain, and monitor the network infrastructure globally, delivering "network as a service" to each business unit across the organization.
• Incident Management - technical resolution for all network incidents including troubleshooting of complex outages and required corrective actions. Supporting the team with any stakeholder communications during such events. All Incidents and requests meet required OLA's.
• Change Management - ensure all network changes are undertaken in line with the internal change management processes.
• Problem Management - management of Problem management activities ensuring that all open problem records are regularly updated and reported on through to closure.
• Support product lifecycle management activities across the network portfolio.
• Act as a technical mentor to more junior members of the team, directing as appropriate on policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and methods.
• Provide technical expertise across the organization relating to Networks, including supporting the team in the on-going maintenance and surveillance of related networks and applications.
• Champion and adhere to standards and operating procedures to ensure quality and productivity with the network portfolio.
• Champion and adhere with installation and configuration documents and other reference guides as needed.
• Actively participate and engage in network design governance.
• Identify and correct network non-compliance issues.
• Work closely with other Network Engineers to plan and complete assigned tasks within deadlines.
• Ensure that the network infrastructure is fully documented and performing as required for internal and customer SLA guarantees and expectations by means of specific metrics and measurements.
• Identification and recommendation on cost-effective technology solutions that will improve service.

Skills and Experience:

Essential:
• You will have at least 10 years' experience of internetworking within a global enterprise organization (3000+ users).
• Significant and demonstrable hands-on experience in implementing, managing, and troubleshooting networks in a pressurized environment, ideally within Financial Services or Insurance, preferred, but not necessary.
• Familiar with a variety of testing tools, networking technologies and techniques to accurately troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems associated with the service, application and network hardware and software.
• Extensive experience in planning and managing change to technology, services and products.
• Expert knowledge of industry changes, updates, and technical developments related to IT networking, to enable proactive response to business requirements.

Have the following certification or demonstrable working experience:
• Degree level qualification in a relevant field
• Cisco CCNP certification or higher; CCIE highly preferred
• ITIL v3 foundation or higher

High level of knowledge and experience in the following technology areas:
