Role-SAP MM Lead

Location :- Remote + Travel on need basis for couple of weeks (typically it will be requirement gathering, training, UAT, cutover only)

Job Summary:

As an SAP MM Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful implementation and optimization of the SAP Materials Management (MM) module within the S/4HANA environment. You will lead and manage full lifecycle S/4HANA implementations, including project preparation, execution, and go-live phases. You will also play a key role in roll-out and support projects, ensuring effective inventory management, master data management, and adherence to best practices. Your expertise will drive efficient integration with other SAP modules and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementation Experience:
  • Lead and manage at least 1 or 2 full lifecycle S/4HANA implementations, guiding the project from the initial project preparation through to go-live.
  • Oversee and contribute to one or two roll-out or support projects, ensuring the smooth adaptation and functionality of SAP MM in different operational contexts.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Utilize extensive hands-on experience in Inventory Management to configure and optimize SAP MM functionalities.
  • Implement and manage MM pricing procedures, pricing schemes, and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to ensure accurate and efficient inventory control.
  • Monitor and improve inventory processes to align with business needs and best practices.
  • Master Data Management:
  • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and governance of relevant master data within SAP MM, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Manage organizational structures related to MM, such as plants, storage locations, and purchasing organizations, to support effective business operations.
  • Methodology Exposure:
  • Demonstrate excellent understanding of SAP methodologies, including ASAP and Activate, to guide project phases and deliverables.
  • Apply methodology knowledge to ensure structured and effective project execution, from initial planning through to project closure.
  • Best Practices:
  • Analyze, design, and implement best practices in SAP MM to enhance business processes and achieve operational efficiency.
  • Work with clients to understand their business processes and tailor SAP MM solutions to meet their specific needs and goals.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Apply a good understanding of LSMW (Legacy System Migration Workbench), LTMC (Legacy Transfer Migration Cockpit), SAP Queries, and Solution Manager for effective system configuration and data migration.
  • Utilize these tools to support data transfer, system monitoring, and project documentation.
  • Cross-Module Knowledge:
  • Leverage strong functional knowledge in cross-module integrations, including MM-FICO (Financial Accounting and Controlling), MM-SD (Sales and Distribution), and MM-PP/QM (Production Planning/Quality Management).
  • Ensure effective communication and integration across modules to support comprehensive business processes and reporting.

Required Qualifications:
  • Educational Background:
  • Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • At least 1 or 2 full lifecycle implementations of S/4HANA, with a focus on MM.
  • Experience in roll-out and support projects, demonstrating the ability to handle various stages of project management and system support.
  • Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP MM module, inventory management, and master data management.
  • Proficiency in SAP methodologies (ASAP and Activate) and best practices for SAP MM.
  • Strong understanding of integration points with other SAP modules.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications:
  • SAP certification in Materials Management or related areas is preferred.
  • Experience with Specific Technologies:
  • Experience with advanced SAP technologies or additional modules is a plus.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues related to SAP MM.
