We are looking for a VP, Director of Public Relations who will lead day-to-day operations, serve as senior client contact, and execute strategic public relations programming for the PR practice. This person will serve as a key member of the leadership team and position the Agency for continued growth and success. In addition to cultivating new business leads, the PR Director will evaluate existing clients within the Agency to determine opportunities for organic growth.

Responsibilities
  • Be a consistent, steady presence at the head of the PR department while truly embodying Morning Walk's core values of Optimism, Energy and Motion.
  • Develop, mentor, and manage team members while providing continual feedback and performance reviews to ensure professional development within the PR department.
  • Conceptualize advanced, integrated, and innovative publicity and corporate communications campaigns.
  • Provide guidance in developing and presenting new industry insights and business trends for clients.
  • Apply extensive experience and understanding of traditional and emerging communications trends and technologies to elevate strategy.
  • Contribute to the development of Agency metrics for success and examine reporting methods to better convey campaign results and value to our clients.
  • Oversee and monitor ongoing campaign performance to ensure proper execution and meet client expectations.
  • Review and ensure quality of all outbound materials including press releases, company collateral, corporate web site copy, e-mail campaigns, etc.
  • Spearhead crisis management initiatives.
  • Maximize profitability through evaluation of monthly retainer fees and implementation of appropriate account staffing structure.
  • Create, approve, communicate, analyze and report results of internal and external budgets.
  • Identify, pursue, negotiate and create major strategic partnerships and agreements that expand our reach and/or increase our revenue.
  • Provide strategic leadership, direction and management for business development and marketing functions by choosing industries and markets for the Agency to pursue.
  • In collaboration with Agency executives, further develop and implement a growth strategy for the Agency.
  • Assist with the creative development and execution of the marketing programs and social media campaigns to expand Agency reach.
  • Manage relationships with media outlets.
  • Represents the department at agency new business and other meetings as needed.
  • Represent Morning Walk in the community through business, civic and charitable organizations.

Qualities of an Ideal Candidate:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing or similar field
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience within the PR field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven knowledge in communications techniques and strategies
  • Ability to analyze business strategies and develop public relations campaigns to meet client needs
  • Ability to articulate a vision and drive the team to execute the plan with success and measurable results
