Job Description:

**Job Title**: Head of Cell Biology and Assay Development

**Job Description**:

We are looking for an experienced and innovative leader to head our Cell Biology and Assay Development efforts, with a primary focus on advancing oncology drug discovery programs. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in developing assays to validate on-target and on-mechanism activity, guiding the selection and optimization of lead molecules. Familiarity with protein-protein interaction targets, such as transcription factors, and experience with "beyond rule of 5" molecules (e.g., peptidomimetics), is preferred. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the development of novel therapeutics at the intersection of cutting-edge science and drug development. If you're a seasoned leader in cell biology and assay development, passionate about driving progress in drug discovery, we encourage you to apply.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of scientists specializing in cell biology and assay development, setting clear strategic goals, timelines, and resource allocation.

- Design and implement Tier 1 (initial screen) and Tier 2 (mechanistic) assays for protein-protein interaction targets in oncology. Develop cell-based and biochemical assays, including pharmacodynamic marker and target engagement assays for drug discovery.

- Collaborate with medicinal chemistry, computational biology, and pharmacology teams to ensure alignment in drug discovery strategies.

- Oversee the analysis, interpretation, and presentation of complex biological data to guide lead optimization and preclinical development decisions.

**Required Skills and Experience**:

- Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.

- 10+ years of postdoctoral experience in cell biology, assay development, and oncology research, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.

- Deep understanding of the drug discovery process in oncology, including establishing workflows for compound testing, prioritization, and lead optimization.

- Expertise in developing and validating cell-based and biochemical assays, as well as connecting in vitro findings with in vivo outcomes.

- Strong knowledge of cell signaling and signal transduction in oncology pathways.

- Proven leadership and mentoring abilities, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams and leading cross-functional collaborations.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex scientific data to both internal and external stakeholders.
