LOCATION: Rush-Henrietta Central School District

SALARY: Competitive per Rush-Henrietta Administrators' Contract, based on experience.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must possess New York state SDL or SDA administrator certification. Certification in English or Elementary Education required with highly effective teaching experience; literacy certification and leadership experience is preferred.

DESCRIPTION: Rush-Henrietta is seeking a leader with a passion for student success and high-quality instruction in the district ELA program, with a focus on literacy development and intervention. Responsibilities include:

the design, implementation, and evaluation of K-12 ELA and reading curricula and assessment, ensuring alignment with state standards and best practices;

ensuring that library media programs are effectively integrated into the curriculum and support instructional goals;

analyzing program and student achievement data for improvements;

supporting building leadership with the academic intervention systems for literacy;

identifying instructional strategies for a culturally responsive environment;

fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in literacy education and library media services;

planning and delivering professional development for teachers, librarians, and reading specialists to enhance their skills and knowledge in literacy instruction, technology integration, and library media; and

ensuring that all instructional practices and library media services support student achievement and foster a love for reading and learning.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong knowledge of the NYS ELA Standards, foundational literacy development and research-based interventions. The Director will collaborate with the Executive Director of Learning and Innovation, principals and other program directors to ensure the district offers a high quality academic program that prepares each student to have college and/or career success.
