Job Overview: Based in Danbury and reporting to the CFO of Linde's America segment the Director of Strategic, Capital and FP&A will be responsible for all consolidated financial planning and reporting of the Americas segment. Objective: Drive efficiency improvement, accuracy, and transparency to all aspects of financial planning & analysis of the Americas segment. Primary Responsibilities: • Manage monthly rolling forecast with all Americas RBUs. • Preparation of Monthly FLR and GBR executive presentation material. • Annual and Strategy Plan development, setting goals for each regional business unit (RBU) and detailed review of each plan financials, P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow • Monitor several financial metrics/KPIs for all the regional business units including segment to find improvement opportunities. • Provide financials KPIs/trends reports to executive & regional vice presidents, and financial controllers to further better business quality and providing insights & recommendations. • Support RBU financial controllers to refine reporting processes and profitability. • Monitoring competitive earnings, material investments. • Manage Support cost center annual budget, month close, spend activity for procurement, IT, digitalization etc. ($32 MM annual spend). • Perform ad hoc, deeper financial analyses across RBUs / segment including RBU/businesses benchmarking to improve performance, set correct KPIs and set right course for the business. Ideal Candidate Profile: The successful candidate will be a qualified finance professional with proven strategic and financial capabilities coupled with significant experience of using the finance function to drive business performance. They should possess a minimum of 15 years' experience within the financial function at complex, sophisticated multinational corporations with an industrial base. This individual is likely to bring experience in working across a broad geographical region, managing multiple countries and a disperse team. Naturally comfortable in all aspects of interacting with the business from both a commercial operational and strategic perspective, this individual will be a strategic leader with deep mastery of core financial management to enable the strategic, operational, commercial and financial success of the business. A proven ability to build strong relationships across the business units, geographies, functions, etc. is a must. A sound record of credentials in delivering transformation to the financial function within a large corporation will also be highly valued. Required Qualifications: - A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business or a related discipline is required. A master's degree in finance will be highly valued. - A minimum of 15 years of increasing responsibility in a sophisticated Finance function within a large multinational corporation in an international setting. - Experience with and knowledge of finance systems (JDE, Hyperion). - Strong operational knowledge and experience in the manufacturing industry or in companies with a strong industrial base, ideally geographically disperse. - Significant experience in a finance leadership role in a large multinational company, delivering positive change at both the strategic and tactical levels, within a corporate environment involving multiple business units, departments, support functions, etc. - Strong management presence and effective relationship management skill s which can be exercised internally and with external constituents. - Experience working in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment with a high sense of urgency, drive to achieve and 'no-excuses' mentality. - Ability to operate at a strategic level and deep dive into the details as required. High doses of organization, discipline, rigor, self-motivation, and appetite for closure. - Impeccable project management skills, ability to multitask and to make an efficient u se of resources. - Exceptional communication skills and high degree of fluency in English.
