Job Description:

1. Conducts monthly Health and Safety Committee meetings for GGD and GGW.
2. Ensures the timely record keeping of all OSHA/MIOSHA reporting.
3. Develops policies and procedures to ensure compliance with environmental health and safety standards.
4. Identifies and develops safety training based on organizational need.
5. Investigates accidents and safety concerns; generates written reports on incidents involving environmental health and safety matters.
6. Maintains up-to-date emergency response plans and procedures.
7. Assists with handling workers compensation cases and designing programs to control, eliminate and prevent future injuries and/or illnesses.
8. Ensure all sites are meeting the Agency safety requirements during site inspections, including the update of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), job hazard assessments, mapped evacuation routes, fire extinguisher inspection, panic buttons operations and all other safety activities noted in the safety process check list.
9. Participate in self-sponsored and organization-sponsored professional development opportunities to enhance leadership skills and to stay abreast of best practices within the health and safety industry.
10. Demonstrate personal commitment to the values and mission of Goodwill of Greater Detroit.
11. Performs other assignments as required.
