Job Description:

The Annual Gifts Officer is responsible for implementing strategic plans for the growth and success of the annual giving programs. Manages the identification, cultivation, solicitation and recognition of annual fund donors. Helps identify prospective major and planned gift donors. Prepares comprehensive budgets for the annual giving and grants programs. Provides all necessary information to the Executive Director for communication with the CARTI Foundation Board of Directors regarding annual gifts and grants. Responsible for volunteers for all CARTI locations, as well as the 20th Century Club Hope Angel Volunteer Program and the Mt. St. Mary Academy Internship Program.

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for all annual giving campaigns and activities including direct mail, grateful patient, colleague, and community campaigns.Responsible for the implementation and analysis of the direct mail program.Develops and produces communications materials for the CARTI Foundation as well as materials to further the annual giving program including donor newsletters and social media. Coordinates with the Marketing team as needed.Based on established metrics, makes regular donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship contacts. Maintains an active portfolio of prospects.Responsible for the implementation and analysis of the online giving program.Pursues and implements new activities and methods to encourage annual giving.Develops all plans and budgets related to annual giving activities; provide regular status reports to the Executive Director and Foundation Board of Directors.Plans and attends donor appreciation events.Participates in and assists with special events as needed.Assists with donor recognition and stewardship.Assumes responsibilities as needed in the absence of other staff.Provides volunteer recruitment, training, and retention and creates meaningful opportunities for volunteers across the CARTI footprint.Develops the budget and administers and approves expenditures for the volunteer program.Develops and implements yearly goals for the volunteer program.Interacts with donors, board, volunteers, patients, and employees on an ongoing basis.Some functions occur after normal work hours and may require all Foundation staff to be present.Some travel outside of the central Arkansas region is required. Some trips may require overnight stays.Works with all staff as requested.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION:
Bachelors degree in non-profit management, business, marketing, communications, public relations, accounting, law, or other similar field of study, required. Masters degree or equivalent, preferredCurrent Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) Designation, preferredCurrent Arkansas Drivers License, required

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Minimum 3 years of development or equivalent work experience required.Knowledge of non-profit organizations and the specific resource development/fundraising techniques relevant to that environment.Demonstrated annual gift experience with documented fundraising outcomes.Self-motivation, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and organizational skills are necessary as is the ability to adapt to change and a fast-paced schedule.Knowledge of Microsoft Office is a must; Raisers Edge software is preferred.Able to handle multiple tasks at one time in a professional manner. Can adapt to and accept flexibility, change, and a fast-paced schedule.Requires excellent writing and organizational skills.Professional appearance, pleasant office demeanor with employees, volunteers, patients, donors and others.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must interact and communicate both verbally and in written form.Must interact and exchange information regarding patients with physicians and other departmental personnel, and outside agencies on a frequent basis while respecting the confidentiality of patient information.
