THE PROGRAM

We're looking for students to join our Co-Op Program who are obsessively curious about 'what's next'. You'll get hands-on experience with our products and learn from the best of the best in the business. You will immerse yourself into Bose for 6 months and get the opportunity to grow the skills you learned in the classroom with hands-on work experience. By the time you end your time with us, you will have been given the opportunity to truly make a real impact in the future of Bose and your career! Opportunities don't stop at your day-to-day work. While you're getting an in-depth look at your area of expertise, we'll expose you to other areas of the company. Our Co-Ops are given the opportunity to connect with senior leadership across the business to understand different perspectives at Bose. You'll network with other Co-Ops and colleagues to grow your network for the future!

Timeframe - January - June 2025

THE ROLE

Bose Research is seeking a passionate, hands-on co-op student to assist in building the next generation of Immersive Audio experiences for wearables. In this position, you'll use your expertise in signal processing and acoustics to help create new spatial audio concepts and experiences. You will be working closely with a team of research engineers conducting measurements, analyzing data, and prototyping algorithms.

Responsibilities:
•Performing physical and acoustic measurements in several rooms
•Analyzing the room data to inform tuning of the algorithm
•Designing filters and assisting with model optimization
•Coordinating and conducting listening tests and experiments

Required Skills:
•Proficiency in writing and debugging MATLAB code
•Basic understanding of signal processing
•Basic electronics laboratory experience
•Passion for sound quality

Additional desired skills:
•Experience with acoustic measurements
•Familiarity with spatial audio
•Familiarity with psychoacoustic principles
•Active musician or sound engineer

Education:
•Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering or physics
