JOB SUMMARY

CI Specialist Sr is responsible for driving sustainable continuous improvements in the facility by delivering breakthrough results in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale. The CI Specialist Sr works closely with the CI Manager, Plant Leadership and hourly employees to achieve results. This position requires strong technical Lean Manufacturing and hands-on leadership skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leads and facilitates complex, high-valued Improvement events to drive sustainable improvements.
• Works closely with CI manager and Plant Leadership to:
  
  
  • Develop and execute complex improvement action plans.
  • Train and coach department leadership to identify and action their improvement projects.
  • Build an employee engaged work environment.
  • Oversee tracking tools and measures progress of selected CI initiatives.
  • Develop business case justification for capital projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain improvement portfolio of ideas and projects
  • Provide and teach Continual Improvement mindset and techniques employees.
• Responsible for managing multiple projects at the same time.
• Ensure the facility implements and is engaged with the Hearthside Performance System

Skill in:

• Lean, Six Sigma, TMP, TPS, or WCM
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Effectively present information to employees, top management, public groups and/or board of directors.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university preferred
• Two (2) or more years in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum Two (2) years of CI experience
• This position is onsite in Grand Rapids
