Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) offers cardiac mapping and ablation solutions to treat patients with abnormal heart rhythms. This is unique opportunity for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our growing team of program managers (CTOR's) and Project Engineers within Pre-Market Operations who are responsible for shaping the manufacturing architecture to success develop and launch new products to meet cost, quality and supply goals for the business.

The Senior Engineering Manager will be involved in providing functional and people leadership to drive strategic and tactical activities supporting the CAS Operating Unit.

  • Lead, grow and motivate a highly talented and diverse team of program managers and project engineers across multiple geographies .

  • Shape functional strategy and functional excellence within premarket operations program management to support development of next-generation product pipeline.

  • Champion functional strategy deployment including Design for Reliability and manufacturability ( DRM ) to successfully integrate within the CAS Product Development Process .

  • Provide resource allocation guidance and staffing through analysis of scope, schedule and skill sets needed for successful program execution.

  • Responsible for coaching and performance acceleration by setting objectives and evaluating progress via a performance-oriented culture to deliver on business goals.

  • Develop and coach team of direct reports through program planning, execution , problem solving and risk management of low to medium scale complexity programs .

  • Lead functional staff meetings to share best practices and lessons learned across the portfolio.

  • Work across multiple programs to identify and implement productivity and process improvements.

  • Prioritize career development of talent within a highly capable team by identifying opportunities, providing stretch assignments and challenging individuals to exceed current capabilities while providing meaningful support.

  • Partner with in the Operating Unit (OU) & Global Operations and supply chain (GO-SC) to g row and nurture cross functional & cross manufacturing site relationships in a large & matrixed organization

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/science or a related discipline

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 3 + years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 3 + years of managerial experience

  • Experience of direct management of engineers or program managers.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree in engineering/science or a related discipline

  • Medical Device product development or operations experience with catheters, sheaths or other disposable medical devices.

  • Program Management experience (PMP Certified), DRM, DFSS or Six Sigma Black Belt Certified

  • Proven people leader with the ability to motivate teams and promote innovation at all levels.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$160,000.00 - $240,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
