Position Overview


We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Project Manager to join the team. The ideal candidate will have 10-25 years of experience in the water/wastewater industry, with at least 10 years of project management experience in building plants. We prefer candidates from the Austin area to avoid relocation and to ensure a good cultural fit within the organization.


Key Responsibilities

• Project Management:
  Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.


• Cost/Change Control:
  Manage cost and change control, including change order review, negotiation, and recommendations. Ensure tracking of all key project documents.


• Scheduling:
  Create and maintain weekly schedules to ensure budget management and tracking.


• Compliance:
  Ensure all work complies with relevant building and safety codes.


• Contract Management:
  Provide direction over contracts and subcontracts, and manage subcontractor and supplier relationships.


• Coordination:
  Coordinate with Superintendents regarding schedules, labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and suppliers.


• Quality Control:
  Review costs and quality daily, addressing any significant budget or quality issues.


• Documentation:
  Control and monitor extra Work Orders, plan revisions, and project documentation.


• Meetings:
  Conduct weekly key project update meetings and ensure all recaps are signed daily.


• Customer Service:
  Provide superior customer service and effectively communicate with subcontractors.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and HCSS products.


• Strong interpersonal and human relations skills.


• The ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs.


• Superior customer service skills.

Minimum Requirements

• Education:
  Bachelor's Degree (Degree in Construction Management preferred).


• Experience:
  Minimum of 10 years in project management within the water/wastewater industry.


• Certifications/Licenses:
  Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA and safety requirements. Valid driver's license.

Physical Demands

• The ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.


• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

• Office-based work with varying temperatures.


• Extensive computer use and keyboarding activities.


• Occasional travel to job sites with fluctuations in weather.
