Jackson Hewitt dba P & S Tax Prep Services is a tax-preparation and bookkeeping service that is responsible for preparing federal, state and local income-tax returns each year. Our company is growing rapidly; therefore, we are seeking a dedicated bookkeeper.

What you'll do here:

• Pay tax on Mass.gov and EFTPS website for majority of our clients
• Monthly and quarterly reconciliation
• Create and issue 1099 as needed

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented bookkeeper to monitor the finances of our growing company. On a daily basis, you will record all financial transactions, including cash payments, into the correct general ledger and verify that they are accurate. Our ideal candidate has worked as a professional bookkeeper for at least three years and has experience managing large bank accounts.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Review financial transactions for accuracy
• Input transactions into the correct ledger
• Pay vendors as they come due
• Make deposits and record all cash receipts
• Manage the office petty cash fund

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of bookkeeping experience
• Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication and math skills
• Knowledge of payroll and bookkeeping principles
• Understand how to balance large bank accounts

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• CPA is a plus
• Previous bookkeeping experience preferred
• Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
