The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Product Software Application Developer to join the team in either Long Beach, CA or San Diego, CA.

In this role, you will be working on maintaining, enhancing, and possibly porting, to Azure Government, a windows forms application that utilizes a web services back end for database interaction. The selected candidate will be a technical leader and mentor in the small development team helping to chart our technology path. The ideal candidate will use DevOps best practices to build out Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for the software and hardware used by the project while working within the Agile Development Model as defined by the project where applicable use Test Driven Development best practices throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Position Responsibilities:
  • Oversees development, documentation and maintenance of complex architectures for software applications
  • Contributes to the evolution of contemporary computing architectures, defines architectures within a domain
  • Provides high level expertise on specific software systems to internal/external customers and software application developers
  • Provides guidance to other sites and projects with regard to architecture selection
  • Identifies risks and assists project lead with risk management and customer reviews
  • Develops project plans and schedules and oversees resolution of programmatic problems
  • Assesses project compliance with regulations and standards
  • Negotiates internal and external interfaces and requirements with customers, teaming partners, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Oversees software trade studies and helps define benchmarks
  • Provides guidance to other sites and projects with regard to requirements
  • Oversees supplier/subcontract management team for complex/advanced technology software projects
  • Participates in independent reviews of supplier/subcontractor software
  • Leads incident management resolution and root cause analysis, identifies gaps and implements process improvements
  • Oversees development, maintenance, and unit test for software applications
  • Acts as a subject matter expert on current and emerging technologies being leveraged
  • Oversees development/decomposition, documentation, maintenance and implementation of designs for software applications
  • Oversees internal/external design reviews
  • Defines new program integration efforts/plans
  • Consults with multiple projects on integration strategies and defect investigation
  • Oversees development, selection, tailoring, and deployment of processes and tools
  • Oversees resolution of operational and integration issues
  • Serves as a consultant and external spokesperson for the organization


This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 5+ years of experience with working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership
  • 5+ years of experience with backend development (Java, Spring, Oracle SQL, SQL Server)
  • 5+ years of experience working with C#.Net (ASP.NET WebForms) and using .NET Framework
  • 5+ years of experience with MSSQL, stored procedures, and designing high performance databases
  • 5+ years of experience with Web Service integrations (REST/SOAP APIs)
  • 5+ years of experience developing software for containerized architectures (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)
  • 5+ years of experience with Bamboo or Jenkins for DevOps administration, automation, continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • 5+ years of experience in integrating complex applications on Windows and Linux platforms


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Experience with JavaScript
  • Experience with React Redux
  • Experience with Kafka
  • Experience with Mongo or other NoSQL


Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $147,050 - $198,950
