Job Description

Organizational

The Zenith Competitive Intelligence Team provides advertising intelligence that yields insights resulting in a marketplace advantage for the Zenith Media clientbase. Our goal is to daily deliver the most accurate, most timely and most granular competitive media spending reports & analysis in our client's categories.

Individual

The role of the VP, Director of Competitive Intelligence is to act as central contact for competitive media issues and to direct workflow on a global team. The position of VP, Director of Competitive Intelligence has a strong knowledge of market & industry trends and assumes a leadership position on our clients' business. The VP Competitive Intelligence reports to the Senior Vice President, Competitive Intelligence.

Responsibilities:

Individual
  • Lead the development of imaginative reporting based on understanding of our clients businesses.
  • Able to think and write in a logical flow; competently present and defend analysis daily.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; open and able to learn new software and innovative ways of using old software.

Organizational
  • Can write and present research analysis and understand media strategies - both Traditional media and Digital media.
  • Interact with clients, Analytics, Strategy, Media Planning, Account Management and offshore teams.
  • Foster internal/agency communications and relationships.
  • Establish vendor relationships; have solid command of industry research and trends.

Team
  • Train Competitive Analysts in systems and processes.
  • Delegate responsibility but maintain accountability for output of your team.
  • Inspire creativity and pro-activity of competitive staff.
  • Prioritize and manage work flow to guarantee timely delivery of projects.


Qualifications

Requirements:
  • 10+ years experience in media research, planning, or account management.
  • Finance Industry experience not necessary but would be a plus.
  • Familiarity with all channels (Digital, TV, print, OOH). Expert in at least one.
  • Organized, detail oriented. Expects excellence and accuracy.
  • Familiar with Competitive vendor processes and output.
  • Vivvix (formerly Kantar, future MediaRadar), Nielsen AdIntel, Pathmatics, BI Science AdClarity, Media Monitors, iSpot, AdImpact, MRI, GWI, Yougov Brand Index, Comscore
