As the Fiscal agent for LAP-AID, the position will be contracted through United Way of East Central Iowa, with direction given by LAP-AID leadership.
Job Title: LAP-AID Project Manager

Contract Type: Temporary Contracted Position
Duration: 6 months
Position Objective: To create a clear and organized Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) network. To promote community engagement and leverage assets and partnerships more efficiently for organizations/individuals to join the network with the clear idea of purpose and intent. Support an engaged network who successfully collaborates during times of need.
Position Summary: This temporary contracted position will work to strengthen community capacity to be prepared for disasters by completing key administrative tasks through LAP-AID (Linn Area Partners Active In Disaster), the local COAD network. While LAP-AID remains a strong and active group of over 40 community organizations, due to its voluntary nature, important tasks have been identified that require additional project management capacity to accomplish.
Key Responsibilities:
Create lists for preparedness, response, and recovery phases of disasters.
Collect and record lessons learned from the dual disasters experienced in 2020.
Implement the organizational structure plan introduced in July 2024 including:
Updated membership structure.
Updated by-laws and voting structure.
On-boarding process and materials for new members.
Prepare and plan for the envisioned Volunteer Resource Center.
Refresh the website and social media presence.
Assist with learning event schedule.
Qualifications:
Self-starter
Organized
Skilled in project management and building relationships
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
Disaster preparedness and/or response experience
Specific experience in the project areas
Contract Period: Six Months
Contract Rate of Pay: $36- $46 per hour based on level of experience
Contract Hours: Approximately 300 hours/ 12.5 hours per week
