RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties Include:
- Develop aesthetically compelling, functional, and technologically innovative Exterior Design proposals for the Advanced Design Exterior team; Working across the company's existing brands and with the opportunity to contribute to projects that explore new business opportunities in the Transport space
- Guide and follow the 3D development of their chosen themes with the sculpting and fabrication teams
- Contribute to proposing advanced features and proportional solutions including an awareness of emerging technology trends and executions
- Represent the Exterior team in a professional and courteous manner with cross functional teams
- Exhibit a collaborative and team focused attitude that fosters and encourages inclusion and a safe, desirable work environment
Exterior Car Design:
- Sketching - thought process put on paper/digital
- VR room - get together as a team and bring their digital assets and show their inspiration
- Design brief - what the design is going to be, gather inspiration and present it
- Design a scale model
- Mobility/transportations - type of pieces they will work on varies
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree
- Entry level candidate or 1 to 2 years of experience
- Arts Center schooling
- Industrial and transportation schooling
- If candidates have interior design experience, they can switch teams; Or they can design interior to exterior, whole vehicle concept
- Sketching (Clear visual communication of ideas, showing good use of line, perspective & proportions), with some Rendering skills to finalize ideas; A portfolio of Transportation Projects with mostly; Exterior design should show these skills
- Able to provide guidance into 3D, whether 3D linework or quick sketch modeling in Alias or Blender or compatible program
- Communication skills to describe your inspiration and vehicle plans along with working well and collaborating as a team
- Ability and desire to engage enthusiastically with strategic and customer focused thinking to add depth and meaning to Advanced projects and presentations
- 3D experience would be nice
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
