Job Summary
A Brokerage Hub Support Processor works hand in hand with U.S Customs officers. This position serves as a liaison between UPS and government entities, resolving issues related to customs declarations, shipping restrictions, tax payments and uses import/export regulations to classify products and determines eligibility for various regulatory programs involved in international imports and exports.
The first 2 hours of the shift is office work, the remaining hours are worked in the Customs inspection cage.
Pay Grade: 08
Responsibilities:
Substantiates classification decisions using General Rules of Interpretation (GROI), Explanatory Notes, CROSS (Customs Rulings Online Search System) and other resources.
Processes Emergency Action Notifications received by USDA.
Assist officers during inspections and provide any requested documentation.
Work directly with international import operation on fulfilling package requests from Customs.
Communicates proactively with customers including educating customers on regulatory procedures
Position utilizes BOSS (Brokerage Operations Support System), Mainframe (ISPSYS, OPSYS), Internal Visibility Portal, VPS Print (AMS history)
Qualifications: Strong knowledge of US Customs and Border Protection Regulations Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) - Preferred International Trade, Logistics or Freight Forwarding experience - Preferred Previous experience with classification and/or FTA determination - Preferred
