Job Description:

EIG LatAm is the Latin American regional platform for the Energy & Infrastructure Group and is part of the broader CA-CIB's Structure Finance platform (SFI). As such, the team covers all sectors for EIG, notably: Power, Infrastructure, Mining, and Oil & Gas (RBL, midstream and downstream). The Team acts in several roles within these sectors, including project finance arranging, advisory and from time to time undertakes some coverage responsibilities. Key markets for the team are Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Brazil.

The team is responsible for originating and executing transactions within this platform, as well as monitoring our portfolio of assets and managing exposures.

The Vice President Portfolio Management (VP) will be exclusively dedicated to the management of the portfolio and will directly report to the EIG LatAm Portfolio Manager (PM). He/she will have the following responsibilities:
  • The VP will be assigned several portfolio files to monitor and will deal with the periodic reporting related to these files including Annual Credit Review, and/or Quarterly Substandard Reports (SAR), and any waivers/amendments requests submitted by borrowers.
  • The VP will assist the PM on various tasks related to the management of the portfolio including:
  • Monitoring the advancement, the annual credit reviews, processing of amendments and waivers, SAR, and other deliverables to be executed by the other team members.
  • Performing the ultimate quality control of the annual credit reviews and other periodic reports produced by other team members.
  • Tracking the production of Annual Credit Reviews, and other internal requirements to ensure the number of past-due reviews is kept at a minimum.
  • Supervising the production of materials required for any portfolio review, and internal or external audits.
  • Periodic reporting to Paris Head Office on E&S and Climate Change-related matters and on Equateur Principles compliance.
  • Training the more junior staff who are assigned to Annual Credit Reviews and supervising their work in this regard.
  • In order to perform her/his responsibilities, the VP may have to interact on regular basis with other groups within the bank such as the Risk Department, Hedge Desk, Syndication & Distribution, Legal, Rating Advisory, the Distressed Asset group, and colleagues based in LatAm countries as well as Paris Head Office.
  • The VP will be responsible for the quality of EIG LatAm's data in the systems and limiting the number of anomalies. The trouble-shooting of anomalies, as they appear, will require liaising with other teams such as the Middle Office, the Risk Department and in some instances the Back Office.
  • The VP may be responsible for challenging or complicated files in liaison with the Distressed Assets group.
  • The VP's responsibilities will include communicating with deal Administrative Agents and/or independent consultants, and/or counsels as required.
  • The VP may assist on ad hoc tasks such as country and sector strategies, monitoring of country risk and envelope, deal tracking, budget and reporting, tracking and forecasting group-wide revenues, etc.

Requirements:
  • Prior direct or indirect experience in project finance or similar senior secured asset-based financings
  • English, some Spanish, and ideally French.
  • Proactive / "get-it-done" attitude.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Able to direct their own work and train junior members of staff.
  • Experienced in financial analysis, credit analysis and legal documentation.
  • Team player and able to work with other areas of the banks (notably Risk department, Distressed Assets team, Middle Office, etc.)
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
  • Acute sense of organization / autonomy / planning / resource management. Knowledge of the internal organization and systems of the bank (or priority learning).

Qualifications/Education Required:
  • BA or BS in Finance or related field
  • MBA a plus

Experience Required:
  • 5 to 7 years
  • 5+ years preferred
