Ready to launch your career? The Columbia Threadneedle Investments intern program is designed to provide students with first-hand investment management experience. You will support portfolio management and investment research, contributing directly to the investment process. You will work with an experienced team of portfolio managers and/or analysts who will provide mentorship and opportunities for shadowing.

Examples of past intern projects include:

• Building a municipal bond relative value model tool using over a dataset of 70K securities and over 1 billion data points.


• Automating daily reports for portfolio managers


• Using vendor data to help map municipal bond investment sectors for mutual fund and separate account performance attribution.


• Automating municipal bond sector model to track option adjusted spread changes and find investment opportunities.

Required Qualifications

• Current Junior at a 4-year university pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Quantitative, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Business, or related field


• Graduation date of December 2025 or May/June 2026

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in scripting in R, Python, SQL, VBA, or similar


• High degree of self-motivation with strong integrity and ethics


• Proven organization skills and ability to manage time effectively


• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills


• Ability to work and communicate collaboratively and constructively with other


• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite


• Exposure to database management tools


• Demonstrated curiosity about financial markets and systematic investing

The company does not offer corporate undergraduate internships for students with F-1 visas.
