Job Description:

Adams & Martin Group is seeking a direct hire Family Law Paralegal to join a law firm in the south Twin Cities metro.




Key Responsibilities:





  • Case Management: Manage a high-volume caseload from intake through case resolution, including divorce, custody, support, and other family law matters.


  • Client Interaction: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining ongoing communication to ensure they are informed about case progress and deadlines.


  • Document Preparation: Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests, motions, affidavits, and settlement agreements.


  • Legal Research: Conduct research on case law, statutes, and legal precedents relevant to family law cases.


  • Court Filings & Calendaring: File legal documents with courts and manage case calendars, including scheduling hearings, mediations, depositions, and court appearances.


  • Discovery Process: Assist with the discovery process by preparing and organizing documents, managing discovery requests, and responding to discovery requests from opposing counsel.


  • Trial Preparation: Aid attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions by organizing exhibits, creating trial binders, and coordinating witnesses.


  • Collaborative Team Support: Work closely with attorneys and other paralegals on legal strategy, case updates, and client management.


  • Billing and Time Tracking: Maintain accurate time entries and assist with billing procedures as required.



Qualifications:




  • 3-5+ years of paralegal experience, with a strong focus on family law.

  • Paralegal certification or degree in paralegal studies from an accredited institution preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of family law procedures, court filings, and legal documents.

  • Proficiency with legal software and tools (e.g., Clio, LexisNexis, Westlaw, etc.).

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost professionalism.

  • Strong client management and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.
