Great opportunity in North Houston for a Corporate Controller. The Controller will direct and coordinate the work of the accounting department. The role will oversee the monthly close process and will be key member of the leadership team. This will be a hands on Controller role responsible for managing a small team. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity.
The company is in the Construction industry. They have been growing rapidly and has private equity backing.
Key responsibilities:
Prepare financial statements, including monthly journal entry preparation or analysis, bank reconciliation review, and adjustments.
Oversee the annual budgeting process and the preparation and distribution of the monthly reports on budgets
Identify opportunities to improve financial and operational systems and cost effectiveness

Protects assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls
Oversee accurate reporting of the company's financial statements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in accounting
10+ years of progressively responsible experience in accounting
Hands on experience in month-end/year-end close process
Private equity owned experience preferred
Big 4 and public company experience preferred
Job Costing experience required

CPA/MBA
