Nucor Steel Arkansas is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Technical Services Metallurgist. The role includes, but is not limited to the following:
Establishing a culture of safety awareness.
Coordinating customer support as well as development and qualification trials with operating and technical personnel.
Provide field support for automotive sheet customers, including: claims resolution, cost saving ideas, on-site trial support, on-site problem solving.
Provide customer feedback, customer requirements, and corrective action guidance to mill-based commercial, technical and operations personnel.
This position requires extensive travel.
This position will be primarily focused on the automotive market.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have metallurgical knowledge and 5 years minimum experience with steel products.
Must have experience handling claims and interfacing with customers.
Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent steel production experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong understanding of steel manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems.
Experience with hot rolled, pickled, and/or galvanized sheet products and customers.
Experience as a mill metallurgist.
Experience with customer support, both internally and externally.
