Who we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced AVP, Employee Benefits to support our US Benefits team. The role will be based in Boston, MA and report into the Head of Global Benefits (Boston, MA).

The Benefits team is focused on the design, implementation and ongoing management of employee benefit plans and programs. The team also monitors regulatory and governance-related requirements, to ensure compliance. In addition to day-to-day management of key deliverables, such as supporting annual enrollment, the team supports a varied portfolio of projects, including requests for proposals (RFPs) and new benefit or vendor implementation. We are a lean, but mighty team and are looking for someone who wants own every aspect of their work from operations to strategy and everything in between.

What you will be responsible for

As an AVP, Benefits, every day will be different. You will:


  • Manage a portfolio of benefit plans and programs and be the Subject Matter Expert for those plans and programs in your portfolio.

  • Provide oversight of external consultants and US benefit vendors.

  • Use benchmarking and develop appropriate strategic recommendations and oversee benefits plan analytics to ensure plan design and strategy are aligned to metrics

  • Pro-actively identify areas for process improvement.

  • Focus on Risk Excellence and support the proactive and effective management risk by the first line of defense.

  • Lead or support ad-hoc projects and provide support to the wider US Benefits team.

  • Focus on client service delivery and relationship management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in benefits role or equivalent experience in compensation or human resources, preferred in financial services and consulting industry.

  • Strong preference for experience with leaves of absence and/or insurance benefits.

  • Highly collaborative team player with a process improvement mind-set.

  • Ability to forge successful relationships/partnerships across organizational boundaries.

  • Ability to think strategically, prioritize and execute flawlessly. Innovative, mentally agile, with a good measure of common sense and sound judgement.

  • Ability to listen, learn and creatively build solutions that are practical and effective for the organization.

  • Passionate about integrity, transparency and maintaining the highest standards of quality.

  • Strong communication and influencing skills, which command the respect of the peer group and leaders throughout the corporation.

  • Comfortable working through grey/ambiguous areas and a highly matrixed organization.

  • Collaborative decision making and work style.

  • Self-starter with a strong ability to work effectively with client and team members, balance multiple work streams and meet all deadlines.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of US benefits and trends.

  • Track record in Benefits within a fast-paced, international, financial services or consultancy organization.

  • Knowledge of US benefits and retirement regulations including 401(k), ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ACA is strongly preferred

  • Ability to interact with employees and management and handle confidential information in a professional manner

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, financial analytics, modeling and project management skills.

  • Exceptional Microsoft Office skills, with a focus on Excel and PowerPoint, and a strong technical aptitude

  • Experience of stakeholder management.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with Workday,

  • Bachelors degree preferred.

  • CEBs a plus, but not necessary.

Salary Range:
$80,000 - $132,500 Annual
