Cloud Engineer at HunaTek Government Solutions in Fort McNair, Washington

Job Description:

HunaTek is searching for a Cloud Engineer to support an existing contract with the Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), providing professional services support to accomplish key mission objects such as 1) end-to-end technical requirements management for enterprise IT services, 2) IT Strategy, Policy and Governance Support, 3) Development and Implementation Support, and 4) Operations and Maintenance Support. The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the following:

• Apply a systematic, engineering approach to the design, architecture, requirements elicitation, development, operation and use of cloud technologies and platforms for mission solutions.
• Leverage software, platform and infrastructure- as-a-service
• Identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the customer
• Design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systems
• Translate the needs of stakeholders and convey this to developers
• Automate and improve configuration, provisioning, deployment, and release processes
• Test and exam code written by others and analyzing results.
• Ensure systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.
• Identify technical problems, perform root cause analysis, and develop software updates and ‘fixes'
• Work with software developers and DevSecOps engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended.
• Support enterprise Cloud applications or infrastructure through infrastructure as code including any activities around automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, and monitoring and testing.
• Ensure efficient functioning of data storage and process functions in accordance with organizational security policies and best practices.
• Document as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations

Required Qualifications:

• B.S. in technology field computer science, electrical engineering, information systems management, or related field of study and/or
• 5 years of experience or demonstrate 12 years of equivalent experience in a related field.
• Experience with cloud architecture, cloud solutioning, networking, security, compliance, migration patterns and tools.
• Understanding of FortiNet- FCP - Network Security
• AWS Certified
• Cisco Certified Networking Administrator - Cloud
• Cisco Certified Network Professional - Cloud
• IBM Certified Cloud Solution Architect
• MCSE Cloud Platform and Infrastructure
• VMware Certified Professional
