ACS Professional Staffing is growing, and we are currently seeking an HR Assistant to help us provide exceptional support to our employees. We are looking for a problem-solver with excellent communication and organizational skills to assist with personnel functions and programs. As an HR Assistant, you will be responsible for onboarding new hires, coordinating pre-employment screenings, and maintaining employment records. You will also be a key resource for employees, providing information on HR policies and procedures. Pay range: $25 - $26

The ideal candidate will have a proven record of success in developing recruiting strategies and delivering suitable job candidates for assigned positions and working with people in a variety of settings. Experience with building relationships with candidates for temporary/contract roles through the delivery of exceptional customer service is a must. Responsibilities:
Maintains accurate and up-to-date Human Resources (HR) files, records, and documentation
Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management
Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to collect and file all required documents appropriately
Provides clerical support to the HR department
Conducts or assists with new hire orientation
Conducts or assists with post-offer background checks and drug screens or other pre-employment screenings as required
Completes I-9 documentation, E-Verifies employees, and maintains current and past documentation in compliance with I-9 requirements
Conducts or assists with the processing of terminations
Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers
Ensures employees can access and know how to use the employee portal.
May assist with payroll functions, including answering employee questions and checking payroll
Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations
Assists HR Manager with various research projects and/or special projects
Performs a variety of general office support duties; makes copies; maintains a calendar of activities, meetings, and various company/employee events; prepares and delivers mail
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business, HR, or a related field is required
Prior related office experience preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to become proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Ability to quickly learn the human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather and analyze information skillfully
Ability to remain open to others' ideas and be willing to receive feedback
Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
