Overview



The Newport Beachside Hotel and Resort is in the midst of an exciting transformation, relaunching soon as The Sunny. We are committed to providing our guests with an exceptional experience marked by luxury and comfort. As part of our dedicated team, the Night Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless experience for our guests during the overnight hours.


As the Night Auditor, you will be responsible for overseeing the hotel's operations during the overnight shift, balancing daily financial transactions, and providing exceptional guest service. This role combines elements of accounting and front desk duties, ensuring that all financial records are accurate and guests receive the support they need during the night hours.


The future Sunny in the heart of Sunny Isles Beach is poised to redefine the beach getaway experience offering a perfect blend of rich history and unparalleled amenities. The resort will feature 339 spacious guest rooms, an eclectic private art collection, six food and beverage outlets, a fitness center, spa & salon, ocean-front pool with tiki bar and fire pits, beach club, and over 22,000 square feet of event space, including a unique oceanfront terrace.



Responsibilities

• Perform the nightly audit process, including balancing and reconciling all transactions for the day. Verify and post room charges, taxes, and other incidental charges to guest accounts.


• Generate and distribute daily financial reports, including revenue, occupancy, and market segment reports. Ensure accuracy and compliance with hotel policies and procedures.


• Serve as the primary point of contact for guests during the overnight hours. Handle check-ins, check-outs, and guest inquiries with professionalism and a focus on providing a welcoming experience.


• Review and manage reservations for the upcoming days, ensuring that all guest preferences and special requests are noted and communicated to the appropriate departments.


• Monitor hotel security systems and conduct regular property walks to ensure the safety and security of guests and staff during the night shift. Respond to any emergency situations promptly and effectively.


• Address and resolve any guest issues or complaints that arise during the night, ensuring a satisfactory resolution and maintaining guest satisfaction.


• Complete end-of-day procedures, including closing out the front desk system, setting up next-day reservations, and preparing the front office for the morning shift.


• Communicate important information to the morning staff and other departments, such as housekeeping or maintenance, to ensure a smooth transition between shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Night Auditor, Front Desk Agent, or in a similar role within the hospitality industry is preferred.


• Strong understanding of hotel front desk operations and night audit procedures.


• Proficiency in hotel management software (PMS) and accounting systems. Experience with Opera PMS is a plus.


• Excellent customer service and communication skills.


• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions and reporting.


• Ability to work independently and handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.


• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.


• Must be able to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
