Ledgent Finance & Accounting is partnering with a General Contractor in the Sacramento area. Ledgent Finance is the preeminent staffing firm which values integrity, accuracy, and professionalism, and we are currently seeking a dedicated Certified Payroll Specialist to join our client's dynamic team.
Position Overview
As a Certified Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You will also handle payroll reporting, auditing, and support employees with payroll-related inquiries.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payrolls for 250 employees.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes to employee details.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, including prevailing wage and union payroll processing.
- Prepare certified payroll reports, including Form WH-347 for government projects.
- Handle payroll taxes, garnishments, and deductions.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to ensure accurate employee data.
- Assist with audits and prepare payroll-related reports as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in union payroll processing
- Knowledge of certified payroll requirements.
- Experience with payroll systems required LCP Tracker, DIR, etc.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll laws.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other payroll software.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
